Debian/Ubuntu users now have the option of configuring an Apt repository on their system as a means to stay up-to-date with the latest D-RATS releases. The last LTS release of Ubuntu (currently 8.04 "hardy") and the latest release (currently 9.10 "karmic") are supported.
To configure your computer, go to System -> Administration -> Software Sources, which will display a configuration dialog. Click on the Other Software tab:
Click the Add button to add a new repository. When prompted for the apt line, type deb http://d-rats.com/apt karmic release. If you are running a different version than karmic, substitute the name appropriately (i.e. hardy, intrepid, etc):
Next click the Add Source button to return to the repository list and then click the Close button, which will refresh your package information. Once that finishes, go back to System -> Administration and this time choose Synaptic Package Manager. In the box at the top, type d-rats and hit enter. The package should show up in the pane below. Click the box to the left and choose Mark for installation.
Next, hit the Apply button at the top, which will install D-RATS. Close Synaptic when it finishes and D-RATS will be in your Applications menu. |
