Downloaded the Windows Installer version of 0.1.10. I tried to install it on my Vista Ultimate machine. Vista came up with an error saying that the program did not install correctly check to make sure it wasn't a corrupt file. Re-downloaded 0.1.10 installer again and tried to re-install.. Wored fine that time... Guess it was a corrupt download..

Downloaded 0.1.9
Used D-Rats during a presentation at the Stuart, Fl Hamfest. Chatting worked fine. Tried to do a file transfer with one of the other presenters. We could not get it working. Will try again. I was using my ID-800.

v0.1.6 ID-800 setup. Worked with another user in a local RF-RF chat session. He was running v0.1.6 also on a 91AD. Also was running the D-Star decoder at the same time. Worked fine.

Downloaded 0.1.6
Launched the program. Was unable to go into the settings page. I went into C:\Documents and Settings\YourUser\Application Data\D-RATS and renamed drats.config to drats.config.old.
Was able to launch D-Rats and go into the settings page.
Played around with the forms capability. Took a few minutes to figure out templates and messages.
Wondering... Can I use D-Rats via the DV-Dongle?

Was able to run the program for the first time but then it wouldn't run after that. Here is Dan's solution:
-
Go into C:\Documents and Settings\YourUser\Application Data\D-RATS and do one of the following:
1. Remove the drats.config file, which will reset your settings
- completely
2. Edit the file in something like wordpad and change the following
- line:
- logenabled = True
to
- logenabled = False
Note the importance of the capital F. This will set logging back to disabled, which will let you start the program, set a download directory, and then re-enable logging.
-
Go into File->Main Settings, "Data" tab. Specifically select a download directory and then hit the save button. The log gets written to the download directory, but if there isn't one set, it will fail to open the log like this.
Was able to get it to load up.
