About the 'bug' mentioned below: It's not a bug but a 'feature' is sort of what Dan told me. (I thought that Linux guys didn't like copying Micro$oft?) hihi. Anyway it's the part that scans for call signs that gets misled by the GPS sentences that contain a call sign too with (sometimes) an additional character. If needed D-Rats adds that call from the GPS sentence as a new call sign to the list of received call signs. However also the 'call sign scanner', that scans for call signs in all/any text, sees it but misses the addition. Hence it cuts that off and add it as a new call. Dan, is aware and will find a fix in a future version.

Nothing breaks because of all this but now you know where it comes from.... :-)

Just a brief update... VK4TUX from Australia is connected and giving the Repeater function of D-Rats a good workout. So far so good!

Oh one thing... A bug? I noticed that on the call sign tab calls can be registered double. What do I mean? If a GPS notification is (for instance) "N1KEZ B reporting ... bla bla" it will register "N1KEZ B" as a call sign but also "N1KEZ" without the "B". The "N1KEZ" without the "B" will then also note 'last seen: never' and 'last position: Unknown'.

Started testing the repeater function on the Mac. Dan fixed a small problem quickly that prevented the software from running. Right now my DRats repeater software is connected to VK3UR In Australia. Folks in the Beaverton/Hillsboro/Portland/Tigard area should see some 'DX' on their DStar/DRats screens!

Running the latest version. 'Show log for this tab' issue has been resolved. Thanks Dan!

Upgraded to the latest version. Problems with the 'show log for this tab' have not been resolved. However... that was likely because I had not send my debug data to Dan. Fortunately I did get my act together today and send him my findings. I also have been able to test some of the new functionality that will be released shortly; Deleting multiple calls (like those with errors caused by weak signal reception) will be possible. See the wish list on the Feature Request page

Found a bug in the 'show log for this tab'. Python cannot find certain modules (gedit). Will do a bit more digging before I formally report this to Dan.

While it takes some time to get the XCode tools downloaded, the installation itself is a breeze. More hassle are the Darwin ports (See Dan's install page) for the details. For some reason it did not work immediately and had to fiddle a bit to get things going. Unfortunately I did not take notes what specifically I did (or not). However I can assure you that, now it starts, D-Rats on Max OSX works like a charm!
